I am on the road for a week. Looking forward to getting back to my barefoot beach running and now have a new goal which is running 50K in the Destin 50 Beach Ultra.
I am in training for a rowing event back in the UK so am working on fitness and stamina. Started off with some intervals and then finished up with a steady run. 9 miles in total.
Thanks to Chris Gkikas for sharing dailymile.com. I am really motivated by seeing what other folks are doing and the support they are giving me. Feel free to connect there. I am Barefoot M on that site.
Chris Gkikas and I enjoyed our "First Sunday Siesta Key Barefoot Run" today. This was the first event for our Florida Siesta Key Chapter and it was pure joy. Chris has written brilliantly about this on his blog. At one point we ran through sea puddles to a strip of sand about 30 feet off shore...

This morning as I was heading toward the road that takes me to the beach for my runand one more time I suddenly found that my feet were leaping from the earth and then kicking gravel. As my brain caught up I saw athree foot snake slither away unharmed. We just suprised each other. This is great...

Many thanks to all who helped us launch the first International Barefoot Running Day on the West Coast of Florida. The weather was great and we were all barefoot. Copies of Barefoot Ken's book Barefoot Running Step by Step were given to Ernie and Chris. All completed at least 2 miles, some 3...
We have gone "old school" to promotethe IBRD eventand have flyers up in the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce and in local businesses. We also have an entry on RunnersWorld and have supported with local word of mouth and some media. Plan to start small this year, get photos, and build bigger next...
Have had to cut back most my running due to an ankle injury. The RICE seems to have helped. Did 2K intervals and 3K run today. Anyway looking forward to launching the Siesta Key Barefoot Running celebration of IBRD.
Had an enjoyable barefoot run today. Focused on intervals and did about 10Km overall. Connected with the lifeguard at the hut where we will start our IBRD run and got the exact address, see below. Amazing thata hut has an address. He wasexcited that we are doing our run. See address below. We...

Really enjoyedthe run today with a focus on running light, free and loving every minute of it. I usally see about 50 runners on each run I do. One or two are now running barefoot. My simpleplan is that if a 54 year old male like me can enjoy running barefoot then maybe fit folks 20 to 30 years...
Had a wonderful BFR on road and then beach. After a storm the previous evening the beach was jewelled with sea puddles which were great to splash in. Saw a family of dolphins leaping through the waves and then was joined by a four legged barefoot running expert. A friendly leaping dog. Looking...
