Patience and pride

Well, itsgoing on the 3rd month since Idecided to run.I am feeling proud that Im still in this. Its not that the running is hard--but the training..... there is definately a mental battle that I fight all the time. Its mostly about being PATIENT. Once I get a few minutes into a session, I never want to stop. I love exercising. Thats what got me into trouble.

Last week I did toomuch. TMTS. 2 Zumba classes back to back, barefoot of course, and 4 runs was a little more than my feet could take. (The rest of my body loves it.)I spent a few days hobbling around on sorefeet.( I figured it was just bruising.)Thats where the mental kicks in and I find myself doubting....and I get this little worry that I might not be able to bring it. I hate that feeling.Even so,I gave myself quite a few rest dayswith a lot of soaking, massaging and stretching my feet and by Tuesday I was feeling good enough to resume play.

I am really eager for the ground to thaw so that I can ditch the mins and get my feet properly trained. I just found out that there is a 5knear my townin July, so my goal is to be ready to run that barefoot. Turns out that last year there was a barefoot runner in that same race--I hope he comes back again. I heard he was fast, which I am not, yet it would just be cool to have some bf company-even for a minute.
