I needed a fairly safe place for my feet while I built up my wind - endurance for the technical minded. Found it at SUNY Fredonia. I have an almost 2 mile course on sidewalks - You can see it at Chautauqua Barefooter.

Those sidewalks look nice. I run on the side of the road most of the time. And when I am back home i run on a paved bike trail (my favorite place to run)
