I am getting a smart phone...finally! Can anyone please tell me where I can go to download safe, spyware-free, virus-free games and software like GPS tracking, etc.? Thanks much!

I really like Strava run. I know that a traditional GPS is more accurate but I like being able to do it all from one device and not having to download info from a GPS.
If you got an iPhone the spyware/virus free is almost guaranteed, as Apple does very thorough checks of apps before they get approved on the App store...Android is a different story, but they are getting better too nowadays
On IOS, I really like iSmoothRun, as it provides real time cadence and has a very good workout editor.
Runkeeper is pretty good as well, and is on Android as well, not sure about WP8

I don't have one yet, but it won't be an iPhone. I'm thinking a TracPhone, so I can buy minutes as I go.
I like run keeper but I don't use any features except the GPS tracking. Some day I might try one of their training plans, though.
Edit: Also you can get an iPhone and get T-Mobile which I think is contract-free. I believe if I stick with iPhone that's what I'm going to do. Companies also have non-phone touch device things but I don't know if those have a GPS antenna (e.g. iPod, or android equivalent).
