It's close to time to replace my 14 year old Corolla. Apparently perfect timing, since the IIHS has designed a new test, small overlap crash. They released the data for mid-sized luxury cars, and they're testing the moderately-priced mid-size cars now.

Now that I'm finally in good shape and healthy, I have more motivation to stay injury-free. Any thoughts?

"These crashes primarily affect a car's outer edges, which aren't well protected by the crush-zone structures. Crash forces go directly into the front wheel, suspension system and firewall. It is not uncommon for the wheel to be forced rearward into the footwell, contributing to even more intrusion in the occupant compartment and resulting in serious leg and foot injuries."

Probably not running for while after this injury!

Maybe I need to save up for this car.
