I've been diagnosed with this on my left foot.
I believe it was brought about by an acute injury, in which I stepped into a pothole while running in the dark. At the time, there was an immediate pain, but then it seemed fine. Within a week, it got worse, so I saw a podiatrist about it last week, and he put me in a boot and physical therapy for at least 3 weeks.

My question is what ideas do you have for recovery? I have a feeling my PT will put me in orthotics or insist on supportive shoes, and I resist the idea (been bf/minimal for ~8 months now & don't want to go back to reg. shoes long term), but then I wonder whether it would help keep the ankle more immobilized so that the tendons could finish healing after the boot comes off.

What, if any, is the nontraditional (no orthotics or 'supportive' shoes approach) way of dealing with this type of tendonitis? Could I expect it to return? What if I go right back to being bf (at least for walking) once the boot comes off? Are braces/bands recommended?
