I wouldn't think you will see many competing in the Olympics, not with the way the sponsors have got the games tied up so tightly. The Olympics is more of a marketing expo with a bit of sport attached to the outside.
Being that this is a barefoot/minimalist society it's probably Ok to point out that most of the runners at the olympics will be wearing minimal shoes. track shoes are mostly minimal (I think) and the distance runners also normally wear somewhat minimal shoes.
It's funny when anti-barefoot people ask how many elite runners are barefoot; maybe we could retort with asking how many elite runners are wearing Brooks Beast and Asic Kayano's.
