Does anyone object to putting the dates of the week in the title, for those of us who are easily confused?
I am very satisfied to report I made it 30 miles last week, including a 12 mile run on Friday. All sole to pavement.
This week I have logged 15.6 miles so far, with 8.2 on Monday and 7.4 today, Wednesday. Lots of baby ducks and swarms of bugs to fend off. The bugs have interfered with my breathing and vision, because they are so thick in a few places that I reflexively hold my breath and close my eyes! But I haven't run into a pond or a walker yet!
I was not able to run the half-marathon I was considering mid-May, due to scheduling conflicts, but hubby just signed us up for a 13.1 miler September 24th, because today was 50% off day and his company has a team going for it. It is a new course to me, but through sections of Boise I am familiar with. I hope to test it for roughness before the event.
When I read the waiver for the race, I found this that I don't remember seeing before and can't help but wonder if some misinformed person is going to harass me for bare feet: " I also agree to abide by any decision of an appointed medical official regarding my ability to safely continue or complete the event. "
