Tristan, I am with you.
Over here in Germany, after the snow is gone, everything is for the worse: wet, cold weather, salt and grit everywhere. Over the weekend, we had some dry hours, and suddenly you could see all this white stuff on roads and pavements, yuck. Then of course it gets wet again, and there you go. On top of that it seems that our city really wants to take care of us and liberally sprinkled all pavements with this nasty gravel that seems to be designed to cut feet apart. I sometimes wonder if this stuff is rated for "cutting edge abrasiveness", and they got the top brand. Sigh. Why can't they just take more care walking on snow. It is not that hard, is it.
I'd much, much rather run on snow than on all the stuff that appears when it is gone.
I wonder if it is really possible to "adjust" to these conditions (meaning tougher feet), to me it seems that the combination of cold, wet, and salt just makes for tender feet.
Anyhow, it was a bad week, caught the flu with fever, and my wife sensibly insisted that I don't run with that, so lost two days, and ended a 562 day streak. Well, so it goes.
Let's hope we have some better runs this week!
