Looks like good advice, but he forgot to mention that the best shoe for running is a barefoot shoe or no shoes at all.
When I ran, before I moved to Wyoming, where I wimped out, I wore Sockwas - but I would now run in Xero shoes because they protect better from gravel and rock. In a warmer climate, and a route sans rocks, I would go back to Sockwas and work back into bare feet.
