    Anybody doing Barefoot Speed Training

I'm doing some speedwork as I'm training for an ironman using coached workouts. I started with the intention of doing it barefoot, but I've found that I tend to push-off more, hence more friction, at higher paces. Also, at speed, I'll miss seeing a pebble here or there and that's no fun when...

Newbie question: Rocks stick to my feet

I'll use a technique where I lift the offending foot and brush it with the opposite hand while doing a hop with the other foot.

Josh McDougal is a Perfect Example of What is Wrong With High School Track

Very interesting. I'm running maf now, but I did use Douillard's system for a while. I still exclusively breath through the nose.

    A good race vest?

I'm really liking my Ultimate Direction Signature Series. You can see my review here: http://www.thebarefootrunners.org/threads/ultimate-direction-signature-series-scott-jurek-vest.13454/ I think it would meet all your criteria, it just depends on if you mind having the bottles on the front...

Ultimate Direction Signature Series Scott Jurek Vest

I wanted to find a pack that would hold my VFFs or huaraches while I build up my barefoot mileage in preparation for my first barefoot half marathon. My previous pack was a Fuel Belt waist belt holding four 8 oz bottles and with some storage space in the back. I decided to get the Ultimate...

Looking to trim up my form

Los Gatos Creek Trail is great for barefoot. Fairly smooth asphalt with little debris. The sidewalks I've run on in San Jose have also been very good: downtown, Rose Garden, Willow Glen, Hamann Park.

    Running On Consecutive Days

Low and slow plans are fine if you just want to complete the race. I did the Galloway plan for my first full marathon, and I only ran 3 days a week. Long runs were every other weekend and build up to a full 26 mile run two weeks before the race. Looking back at my logs, my mileage got up to 35...

    Very small piece of glass

I got my first piece of glass today. I ran on it for a bit not quite realizing what it was. and then had to stop and work at it with my fingernails for 5 minutes to get it out. It was about 2mm x 1mm. I was thinking about carrying tweezers from now on, but I realized it was the first puncture in...

    Winter Challenge - 2012

Now that I finally bought a decent headlamp, I can run in the early mornings again and might get some runs in while the mornings are still cold (relatively) here. I'll never get past the first column.
