Geez, I hate to be the curmudgeon here.
I realize that Lynne said she'd only been doing the barefoot thing for 3 years. But I would have done that entire hike barefoot. I didn't see anything I couldn't have handled after my first three years of barefoot hiking. But if you are overly concerned, then you never really realize what you can really do.
Sure, for the reporter (weatherman), yes, you point out the stuff that might be a problem for a tenderfoot, and let them shoe up. I've escorted reporters before, many times. I stay barefoot, and have them shod up for the stuff they probably can't handle. And I tried to make sure they didn't overdo it.
This just seemed way overly cautious, and the message it conveyed is that barefooting is only for grass.
Again, sorry to be the downer on the video. It did show that people probably can go barefoot more than they originally thought, but the reality is that they can go barefoot
way more than they originally thought.
