Try something like this, with or without (loose) straps. They keep your feet in optimal position, but you can slide your feet out easily--great for commuting with lots of stops and starts, or with a heavy load. Work with shoes or barefoot.
Care to share what the 466dt is in? I assume your talking about the 466dt diesel engine thats quite popular in medium and heavy duty trucks. That reminds me I have yet to try out the big tractor barefoot lol. I'll give it a shot soon. But I do all my compact tractors and vehicles including my stick shift F350 barefoot all the time now. Can't do it. I drive a big old International 466dt and if I don't put at least 2mm soled shoes on I can't handle the pedals for long, my arches, ankle and calf begin to hurt. Short distances, fine, but more than ten mins, nope.
Always!
I drive barefoot whenever it's warm enough, but I have been known to take off my winter boots and drive barefoot on long trips, otherwise my feet sweat with the heat going inside the vehicle.
