13km/8.1mi today, intervals on soft/smooth surface, luckily the weather was really nice, about 9C/48F.
so i'm going against the rebels here and starting my week from monday. quote]
That's when my week starts also on MONDAYS(take that Lee) I guess that makes us both rebels.
Wait a minute, who are the rebels again? The Genesis Calendrists or the Hebdomadal Calendrists? Me, I have no stake in the great debate, despite Dama and Nick's insistence to the contrary, but it seems some calibrational consistency would be nice, given that we're spread out over the globe. I will continue my aloof, anthropological perspective as you natives try to sort this out.
Stationary aerobic exercise = no fun.Part of it is I get tired of being cooped inside on the bike on my non running days...
Going against the rebels? Rebelling against the rebels? Does that equal conforming or do the two actions cancel each other out and you end up doing nothing?so i'm going against the rebels here and starting my week from monday.
With your constant complaints of trigger points and your speedy dashes, I think you should take Jen's suggestion to change your line a bit more seriously.today i was supposed to stay between 7:40-7:00 m/m pace. that was hard. kept going under. finished with some sprints at that sub 7 pace then came home and did some pistols and one armed pushups.
REST THOSE CALVES!!! one more rest day won't undue your fitness since you due other stuff but of course you can do whatever you want if you feel like it.Thursday morning
Skipped run and bike commute, due to tight calves, then walked bare for a couple of miles on some banking business and to check out a nearby, 24-hour gym. Calves felt fine, but I continued to massage and stretch them throughout the day.
Thursday afternoon
Zone 2 ST: Shoulders. Wasn't really into it for the first portion of the session--the shoulder presses with a barbell and dumbbells--but then I started getting a good pump on the rest of the dumbbell stuff, and worked in a few sets of Overhead Back Extensions at the end for the first time since I overdid it a month or so ago and got really sore. I do them straight up, like in this video, and also with more of a crucifix-like movement for variation.
I've also been hitting the clubbells again after a month or two of neglect. With these shorter st sessions it's easier to get to all the exercises on the list.
Debating today whether to give my calves another day of rest as a precaution, or try to at least get in a micro run. The heat will probably make the decision for me. I'll probably just do my st and bike commute to pick up the kids.

Funny, but you've trained me to search through the quote for whatever you may have written. This time you wrote outside the quote box. Tricky tricky...REST THOSE CALVES!!! one more rest day won't undue your fitness since you due other stuff but of course you can do whatever you want if you feel like it.
Whole quote for Mike

Thanks big sister, but I've successfully internalized you to the point where the decision has already been made.REST THOSE CALVES!!! one more rest day won't undue your fitness since you due other stuff but of course you can do whatever you want if you feel like it.

Whoa! How cool is that! Tar footprints! That some seriously hot weather, especially barefoot! Kudos! We've been having the hottest weather of the year around here so far. Last evening, after dinner, I took a short walk and noticed that the tarry patches of the chip-seal road were a bit soft in places.
Anyhow, I walked about 1.25 miles this morning and ran about 400-450 yards of that, mostly on the uphill sections but some on the level too. It definitely helps a lot if you maintain a good tempo with the feet, try to relax and try to achieve a feeling like you're floating over things.
My tar footprints didn't survive the night though. Don't know if I'll try laying them out again this evening, today it might get so hot the road will turn into something like the La Brea tar pits.
I think this week you've kind of mixed it up a couple times. Little of both. Silly Dama, Mike is going to have a heyday with you because he will struggle to read your posts.

Well, he'll just going to sucked it off-won't he.
I think you guys might be approaching it wrong! I always find things to do on the stationary bike. Everything from chatting with people, either in person or on phone, to studying Chinese by watching a movie in that language! Things can be done differently on a stationary bike, than a treadmill, I think. busy, busy.Stationary aerobic exercise = no fun.
