Doctors work and are trained in a specific paradigm, where most patients struggle in their ability to intervene on their own behalf. Hence, most docs treat their patients like passive machines, which need fixing. Part of it's training, part of it is the culture of "fix me doc". Part of it is the healthcare insurance system with 15min visits. This isn't good, but it's reality. My doc, like a good mechanic, wanted to fix the malfunctioning machine and prescribed a pill that would bring the pressure down.
Looking back, I can see that it wasn't very clear why I made my initial posts, which was to try to consolidate information from podiatrists about TOFP. I apologize.
What is also obvious, is the generosity and willingness of those on BRS to help others in need. (Thanks Nick, Mike, and Lee!)
It seems that we now have a quite bit of information about TOFP from Podiatry Arena and BRS wisdom (and my own woes due to improper sitting) all in the same thread (along wih a bit of discussion!), so hopefully this might be helpful for others in the future. Thanks, everyone!
