I am currently "minimizing" my house. I won't say I have OCD because that isn't fair to actual sufferers, but clutter and crap give me the heebie-jeebies and I can't get anything done or relax if it is around. The closet is the focus of the latest onslaught. Last year when I decided to go zero-drop full time I decided to keep my regular shoes for a year in case the inevitable foot problems returned. Hasta la vista shoes! A whole garbage bag of them, hardly worn, plus 1.5 garbage bags of clothes for charity.
Now I wear toed shoes 25-75% of the time, so what to do with all my cotton socks that I HATE, especially the summer ankle socks (I almost never wear socks in the summer)? Nobody wants donated used socks, one can only have so many oil rags in the car, and I am not going to make a "rag bag" because that will just engender more tooth grinding on my part.
It got "cold" here this weekend (ok, it's a relative term, it's like in the 40sF and I actually had to put on "real" clothes to go to work). I wanted to go for a walk outside yesterday morning, but not in bare feet, so I put on one of the offending pairs of socks. I figure I can use each pair until they get holes and then away they go! I ended up running because it was cold but the sock held up fine, aside from obviously being a bit dirty.
Anybody else try this or similar? How did it work?
