Helsinki City Run 2012 - Half Marathon

Just wanted to share a couple of great pictures my wife took 5/5/2012 at Helsinki City Run 2012 (Half marathon, biggest running event in Finland with 15000 participants) where I ran my new personal best - 1:48:47.

And I had a blast getting all those odd looks and comments like "What?", "Barefeet!?" and "Look, there goes Abebe Bikila!"

I met a few people running in minimalist shoes during the race and I know for sure there was at least one other Finnish barefoot runner also who finished the race.

Seems like the barefoot guys get called Abebe, and we girls get called Zola. ;-) That's a great finishing time! Congrats.
