Well just a short 2.1mi barefoot run for me today in the peak of the afternoon before I have to get ready for my nightshift. The sky was clear azure blue and the sun was out bright so just had to get something in. 18ºF with minimal windchill (weatherbug said feels like 12º or something but I don't believe it). Sounds cold but was a piece of cake, aided by the warm sun - the road surface temps were 28-33F!
It was mostly dry but still lots of wet melted snow, though I avoided the actual puddles best I could. Still some frozen ice & snow in the shaded spots. The problem... man was there are lot of little sharp bits of grit everywhere! My soles feel like they went through a meat tenderizer in only 2 miles. Still a nice run in the sun though! But the soles are burning now.
