So over the last month I noticed a strange pain under the outer right edge of my foot that felt like a bruise. I kept waiting for it to go away, but instead of going away it just slowly started getting worse and worse. I finally started examining it closely and discovered that it was actually a series of about 2-3 small trigger points all in the same area. I massaged them out over about 5 minutes and the "bruised" pain feeling went completely away! I've been doing trigger point therapy for about 2 years now and I thought I really knew the distinct quality of trigger point pain, well. But apparently it can disguise itself. This made me wonder about other pains that I did not think were trigger points, and sure enough, it turns out that certain areas that felt like blisters were about to start, also turned out to be trigger points more often than not. Weird. Just...weird.

When I changed my avatar, I instantly thought about you whining about it. :)
