I'm not a fast runner...more like halffast. I did a 5k today in the rain - Olivia's Wish, Evangola State Park, NY. A PR for me - don't laugh - 36:49. I must have saved enough for the end. I heard a guy say " Look at him! He's diggin' to China!!" And I was the only barefoot runner..oh, and first in my age group (out of one - 64-69) And 138 out of 308 runners and walkers. I feel pretty good.
Damn good, LP! You rocked it! You're in the 60s age group AND you're running it barefoot. At least you could dig to China if you wanted to. A rain race is the best race, don't you think?
A respectable time! (that's about what I run and I'm a couple of age groups before you). Also, you finished closer to the top 1/3 of the field; I'm closer to the middle or last 1/3
Thanks all! The diggin' for China remark was in reference to the kick I had in the final 100yds. If I went that fast in the previous 3 miles I would have been a top ten finisher...that ain't gonna happen
