WonderfulWife said “ Go get your hike on” so I took off for nearby Hornaday Pass. 18 miles of varying terrain, elevation, and scenery.
Seems like the 9-10 mile point is still my limit for barefooting. I reached the turnaround point and had to shoe up (FiveToes) for the return due to my feet feeling overstimulated. The sections of mud, well packed trail, and pine needle carpet were pleasurable but the sections of trail traversing rock slides continue to challenge me. Luckily there were a lot of glacier/snow pack fed Creek crossings to cool off in.
Yes, there’s a trail hidden in here...
Didn’t get wet here
Somebody’s humble abode...
I’m six feet tall and had to hunch over in here, had limited room stretching out across...
Stunning.
Traversing sections like this were a little demanding...
