Plantar fibroma, should I be worried?

I noticed my right foot has developed what appears to be a plantar fibroma. It hasn't caused any problems so far, but it worries me that the only effective treatment seems to be surgery and it could become chronically painful in the future.

    Adirondack Mountain trip

I was in Colorado recently (pictures forthcoming) and had no trouble with rough, rocky trails and I've only been a barefooter for a bit over a year.

    Barefoot gaiters?

We just got our first real snowfall (4-5in.) and I went out for a test run/hike to see how my feet handled it. For my first time in snow that completely covers my feet, I'd say 15 minutes was pretty good. However, one thing that bothered me was snow getting up into my pants and soaking my base...

    Swelling near 5th metatarsal/phalanges joint?

Well, that's a relief. I've been running in exactly those conditions (35F/2C, wet from rain all night) and it doesn't hurt, just feels strange.

    Swelling near 5th metatarsal/phalanges joint?

So I've just started running and after about half a mile the soles of both my feet seem to swell in the area pictured below. It doesn't hurt, it almost feels like there's something stuck to my foot, like a thick bandage or as if my foot has a bump on it. I've looked at my soles and they don't...

No, I don't go out to eat very much and that's a bit far from me. How was it?

Refused entry to bank. How do I get a letter from the state health dept?

I was in a hurry so I didn't pay too much attention. He could have been either, but was definitely some sort of manager. Thanks for the research, I didn't find any pages like that when I was looking through their web site. I'll let you know when I get a reply.

Refused entry to bank. How do I get a letter from the state health dept?

I'm 24, and it's always been a Chase bank. What sort of strategy do you have in mind?

Refused entry to bank. How do I get a letter from the state health dept?

Thanks for the help, everyone. I still have to send a letter to Costco, though I don't know how well that'll go. Also, who in the company would I address the letter to?

Refused entry to bank. How do I get a letter from the state health dept?

Chase bank in Shelby Township, MI. I know they have a right to refuse me, but the only reason he gave was "health codes". I did try looking for a corporate mailing address, but I couldn't find one. Also couldn't give anything about corporate policy in relation to dress codes or bare feet.

Refused entry to bank. How do I get a letter from the state health dept?

So I was recently refused entry to my bank for being barefoot. The guy gave me the usual health code BS and wouldn't believe me when I informed him that health codes don't apply to patrons. I know there's a repository of letters from every state stating that being barefoot is not prohibited in...

    Real Barefoot Hiking

Barefoot hiking isn't too hard. I had my first winter challenge experience last weekend and my feet stayed quite warm after the initial cold. As for ruggedness, you just need to get out on the trail more and your feet and legs will toughen up quickly.

    The Unoffical Official Hiking Thread

Spent a lot of time at Lake Superior Provincial Park scrambling across the rocky shoreline last summer. Bare feet excel at this, though I don't have any good action shots. Here's a view from a cliff overlooking the lake. We later hiked down to the shore and I swam to those tiny, rocky...

    Winter Challenge - 2012

I'm new here, but I've already got one Winter Challenge barefoot hike under my belt. Went for a 5 mile hike last weekend just after the first snowfall. It was hovering around freezing, but the snow felt nice between my toes.

    Hello from Michigan

I'm not much of a runner (yet), but I'm certainly barefoot and I love hiking/walking. I've spent most of my time since April of this year barefoot. My goal for the coming year is to finish a 10k. Nice to meet you all!
