    Ruby Muir profile

Not that video. But she ran in the Speedgoat race this year (was third woman) and by all accounts that was very rocky. And she was just bombing past people on the downhills in Vibrams! I know she does run/race barefoot at times too.

The next time someone says there are no fast barefoot runners...

Point them here: http://www.irunfar.com/2013/03/2013-tarawera-uitramarathon-results.html Ruby Muir won the Women's 100k Tarawera Ultra, coming in 7th overall. So, yeah, she run the whole 100km in VFFs, but they were the SeeYa model. She trains and races (some) fully barefoot. Interview...

    Running 75km in a day

Hey! Yeah, have been reading up a few blog posts and such. I'm in Wellington, so my first taste of running the Waitakere's would likely be doing the trail. That may or may not be a plus ;) It would be in March, so still summer-ish. But, still, Auckland --> rain --> mud would be expected...

    Running 75km in a day

(or around 50 miles for the Americans among you ;) So, I've been running since the beginning of the year. I did a road half-marathon in June and currently can do an off-road half marathon for my long weekend run in @ 2hr 30min to 3hr. And feel pretty beat-up at the end! A couple of friends...

    What can I eat?!?!?!?!

I believe you are doing this wrong TJ. The whole point of running is so you can eat (and drink) what you want, GUILT-FREE ;)

    First barefoot run

I think I'll just try and mix things up - bare foot running for shorter distances; VFFs for longer runs; and trail shoes for trail runs. Will see how that goes.

    First barefoot run

Yes, exactly - exposed and vulnerable. Although once I'd warmed up, that all went away.

    First barefoot run

So I did my first completely barefoot run today and DID NOT DIE! Have been running in VFF since beginning of the year and for the past month or so taking them near the end some runs to finish barefoot. But this was the first time completely barefoot. I think the hardest thing was the...

An Olympic sport I can get behind! (Spoiler-as in TJ don't spoil & combine w/ other thread)

Really? This is a website about - BAREFOOT RUNNING - and you thought this would be an appropriate thread... how? Meh. Sexism and sport is alive and well.

Chris - thank you SO MUCH for this! As a Kiwi who grew up with the exploits of the runners featured here, I almost had tears in my eyes watching :) Mike
