Chunk of skin ripped off

On day 11 I went for another 6-mile trail run. The new baby skin still does not handle the sharp gravel very well. :(
Two miles in after my deep breath pain management techniques started wearing out decided to put one of my BarePadz on my left foot to stop the ordeal. :arghh:
Finished easily after that. It is amazing what a difference the missing 3 millimeters of skin make. :wideeyed:
Day 12, 13 and 14 - 26 mile long backpacking trip in huaraches/BarePadz. :joyful:

Day 16:

Getting there.

Day 30, practically back in the original state. Still a bit more sensitive to sharper objects than the rest of the sole but thick enough to run trails again.
I was even able to run another X-Dog trail race yesterday, all 5 miles barefoot, no BarePadz needed anymore :)

Thank God it has healed, now I can look at the pics without puking:spititout:

It's been 30 days already?! Man, time flys!

I miss Nate here.

P -obviously sorry you had to endure that at all, but thanks for sharing the healing process.
It never ceases to amaze me what the human body is capable of dealing with! A 40 day recovery period still seems remarkable to me (although I am not medically qualified to suggest how long it might have taken).
Good luck if/when you go back to the canyon...

Thank you Tedlet. I am definitely going for a second barefoot attempt next year. Will be more prepared this time. :hungry:
