Rick, we need to stretch out the lead as much as possible, as I know you and Lee will be at it full force when we are bottled down with stupid cold temps.

By the way just finished up my part of the phone interview with Graham at the Toronto Star. Nice chap, I am looking forward to reading the article that he is writing.

The key word here is LESS than. Still topping out at 41F (5C). I just wanted to make it clear that it had to be less than 42°F

Rick, you know we get an early start here in Canada (although today it is 15°C or 58°F). You'll end up with a bunch of miles and will overtake us again. I'll try and give Lee a run for his money on the sub-freezing runs. It all depends on the type of winter we get.

NEW! -- Uses MILES or kilometres to record distance

I modified the spreadsheet to allow for distance and temperature entries in either imperial or metric. All you have to do is enter your value in the km or mi column. The conversion will be calculated for you.

Wierd ... Last week 16k at 4°C was TMTS. This week 12k at -3°C was not. Oh well, I'll take it.

Was wondering if you locked the input from the USA so you can keep your lead? I tried to put in my mileage for today and ... couldn't enter anything. - Google Chrome.

I set up a macro that deletes mileage from rickwhitelaw and Bare Lee each time an American tries to enter data. First attempt removes 5 miles for rick and the second attempt 5 miles from Lee. Looks like it is working :playful:
Try bookmarking the spreadsheet again, and be sure to be on the first sheet "Enter Data". I had to recreate the first page, and that means that any old bookmarks go directly to the sheet called "Do NOT Use". It was used as a backup just in case I messed up the data. I use Chrome too.

Are there more cold weather runners out there? 26 people participating so far. Out of 5000+ BRs we must have more putting skin to frozen ground.

Figured that one out after a few tries. Just bookmarked the new spreadsheet with miles. By the way, nice, but how you going to teach us 'mericans metrics? I have my k's down and was working on the temp. conversion. I don't know if I will ever figure that one out.

What's with all the warm temperatures for everyone else? I've been in the teens all week and have a good chance of logging something in the 14 F. column tomorrow.

Got another 10km in at lunch (good headwind to contend with). Hoping for another 8 to 10 this evening, then it is gobble, gobble time. Got me a turkey in the oven.

YOW, you highlighted an error of mine. I had one early morning 1-mile run commute in 17F / -8.3 C windchill (10/21/2013), as my coldest run to date, but had tallied it in the -5-to-0-degree category. I've corrected it I think, but please check to make sure.

    Snow forecast for tomorrow!

Potential snow flurries tonight, perfect timing for my first snow run of the season. I might have to take some pics just for fun.

Yep it is fixed now. The temps were switched too. I corrected it. All you US runners can enter your miles and °F. The spreadsheet will convert for you. You know though if metric is good enough for NASA maybe the rest of the country could join us too.

I don't really want to sign up for competition, but I want to learn more about running in the cooler temps and maybe taking part in some charting would be educational? Last winter I never ran more than about 5 miles at temps less than 40, but this winter I'm trying to do longer, slower mileage. I just want to be able to run with bare feet as much as possible. Do any of you know of a thread that already exists discussing that? I couldn't find one.
