Vivobarefoot Ra - Leather Cleaning

I have a pair of Vivobarefoot Ra's (leather not canvas) which I've had about a week and am wearing to work - they look fine with formal dress. On the Vivo site it suggests using NuBuck cleaner to clean them but most cleaners of this sort seem designed for a rough surface rather than the smooth surface on the Ra's. Has anyone got experience of cleaning these shoes - mine are black so Ideally I'd like to use a black shoe cream or similar to give the leather some nourishment and protection

I use Meltonian shoe cream.

Is that in black or just neutral?

Black for black shoes. Sometimes neutral colors will remove or lighten the leather dye.
