So, I finished the half-marathon without any major issues. 2:21:11... My time was not spectactular, but my training focused on form and endurance... not speed. As far as I know, I was the only completely barefoot participant. I saw about 6 others in VFF's and didn't notice any other minimalist shoes out there; however there were about 15,000 finishers.

At one point there was a gravel section that was about 30 feet long. I didn't panic and just relaxed. I ran across this with no problems at all. The people around me seemed quite amazed. The race was all smiles.

I don't write race reports... so all I can say is that I have crossed another milestone. First half marathon for me... complete.

If I can figure out how to post a picture... I will. Also worth noting... Garmin claims I ran 13.46 miles. My cousin's Garmin claims 13.29... SOOOO... I like to think I went a bit further than 13.1 miles. :)
