I said (in the forum we try not to talk about):

"I just mix a bit of running in with my walking, longboard skateboarding and cycling, and have no real desire to become a *runner*"

"I will never enter a race, not even a 5K"

I've said here: "5K is a good distance for me, I will just work on increasing my speed, I don't want to start training for the 10K"

It took the World Record meetup in Grand Rapids and a slight push/hint from Dama to get me past the 12 minute duration 1 mile training runs, so I wondered if anything would push me beyond my lifetime distance record of 3.1 miles.

Did back to back 5K races last Sat and Sunday, that felt good enough.

Just found this though, Sat July 17'th, ten miles from home in the school district my wife teaches at:

Race Highlights

The last mile of the race is on the parade route with
hundreds of people cheering you on.

After the race stay and check out the Festival.

Accurate and fast 4 mile course.

The New Balance store of Farmington Hills will provide
awards for the overall and master winners.

I guess if I can do 5K I can add the extra .9 mile as long as I am part of the parade!

Last year's results show that some fast old men like this event.

The copy-paste got distorted somehow, but ignoring the headings at the top makes it easy to follow.

Oh I'll finish, but not in the running for an award.

Did someone say something about a 10K that has unlimited free beer?
