I guess it was the rain or maybe the hickory and Black Walnut shells. In any case, for the first time in a long while I just hurt by the end of my 7 mile run on pavement. Just goes to show, I guess, that one shouldn't get too complacent. Conditions change and one's feet adjust- sometimes not so well.

By the afternoon (after my nap) they were fine, and I didn't wear shoes for the rest of the evening's party.
 
That's what I love about barefoot running; it's never consistent. I always enjoyed the challenge of the ever changing terrain and debris due to the change in seasons. It always felt like an experiment. Miss it so.
