Longtime runner, M/33. While preparing for a marathon in January, I started experiencing pain in the top of my right foot. It would start gradually, and become more pronounced as I ran. It was never a sharp pain, but with long distance, became very strong. The sensation was as if my foot were being stepped on heavily everytime i put weight on it. I did the marathon, and was in ever increasing pain from about 5 miles. Ankle became very swollen for a day or so before going back down. Have cut way back on running, but still experience pain in top of foot, often in the morning. I run in 5 Fingers, and have without prior issue for 5-6 years. Does this sound like a stress fracture? -Thanks!
