Funny video, it's a shame

Funny video, it's a shame people act the way they do about bare feet though. It's a freedom they shouldn't infringe upon. I am sure in foreign countries people don't know much about freedom, but here, people should not be allowed to tell folks what to wear on their own two feet!

Now that's a classic!

Now that's a classic!

Boy, we just made a long

Boy, we just made a long (long) roadtrip with small kids. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to cry when I saw, "No shoes, no shirts, no service." Why did I want to cry? Because my kid throws a tantrum when she needs to use the facilities in a hurry, but won't put her shoes on, thereby nearly peeing her pants, every single time.

I could have used a pair of

I could have used a pair of JJ Casuals Saturday when getting booted from Montanas Steak House. I was allowed to reenter after throwing my Bikilas on, but I was hoping for a way to fight back.

Yes, we should start selling

Yes, we should start selling those here at the BRS. Whadayasay, Zum? You on it? Seriously?

Yeah, us damn foreigners and our countries of torture, percecution and prisons.

Your comment struck me as rather odd. Most people visiting me here in the States (I have been living here for about 8 years now) comment on how many rules they have to follow here and I agree. US natives are incredibly adept at stating their expectations to the world around them while spending small amounts of effort in trying to step outside their own point of view.

TFR!

Didn't mean any dis respect

Didn't mean any dis respect on the foreign countries. I thought most countries adapt socialism into their government, which takes away control from the people and places it into the hands of the government. I guess I was wrong I apologize if I sounded rude.

Guys, if you want to continue

Guys, if you want to continue this discussion I suggest you keep it civil. Not that you've said anything really offensive yet but I'll be watching this thread. I'd rather not have to delete posts and such.

That being said, I have a few points to make. First, the concept of "foreign" is weird. The only thing every country except the US has in common is just that, we're not the US. Second, socialism does not limit freedom. It does increase your responsibilites toward your fellow man though. Third, I don't know any other "western" country that has as much of a problem with bare feet as the US.

Thanks, BB.Nick, you've

Thanks, BB.

Nick, you've always had my back, and I will always have yours as you know (from the good ole days), but in this case, I honestly think, NR didn't mean any disrespect to anyone. He said he was sorry.

Gotcha, I honestly couldn't

Gotcha, I honestly couldn't tell if Ramzev had started a new identity here. Since that's not the case I'll leave this conversation as is :)

Well if NR turns out to be

Well if NR turns out to be Ram, I will kick Ram in the ass! I tell you that much. Hee. M.M. CAW Lives! M.M. CAW Lives Here! Oh-no!

Well said !! Can definitely confirm that from my own experience (living in the US for 9 years)

A topic that comes up every

A topic that comes up every once in a while in the heavily U.S. dominated SBL mailing list during election years is: "Who is better for us barefooters, the Republicans or the Democrats?"

We all understand that the U.S. is the worst country for barefoot freedom (with the exception possibly of Singapore), and try to figure out why.

Some of us are convinced that conservatism is the culprit, while others see liberalism as the enemy.

The "Nanny State" mind set has been brought up, as well as Puritanical values.

We can find examples of BF persecution from virtualy all political viewpoints,

and the issue never seems resolved.

It does appear to be an AMERICAN (USA, not, The Americas) thing though, rather than an political ideological one.

Yeah, but that ethos begets Shoe Nazis!
