This article states that Abhijit Boruah, an Assam police constable, set the Guinness Book of World Records for running 150 km in 24 hours. Congratulations to him! http://articles.timesofindia.indiat..._atilagaon-assam-police-constable-tarun-gogoi But, in 2010, Todd Ragsdale set the Guinness record in the 24 hour Relay for Life 24 at South Medford High School in Medford, Oregon, running 102.65 miles (165 km) on a rubberized track. http://thebarefootrunners.org/threads/102-mile-barefoot-ultra-no-simple-feat.5549/ Perhaps they were counted different due to the ground conditions? Of course, it doesn't matter, to us. Both guys rock!
That's what I was wondering. Hey, it's all good. It just goes to show that it can be done, barefoot over 100 miles.
It looks like maybe Todd's record was just longest distance, whereas the new record is longest distance in 24 hours.... Even though Todd's was in 24 hours, maybe it wasn't recorded as such?...
In that article he has on his site, you linked to, at the end he says he is going to submit to Guinness the video for the record, so maybe it's not finalized?
The problem I have found, is that they don't publish all of the records, so you have to actually contact them to verify, so who knows.
Anyway guinnes records only count those that actually apply for them. Ane there are special requriments for approval. I remember there is a german woman that have run over 170 km within 24 hours without shoes. Just cannot remember the name. It was in the record page on Ken Bob Saxton's page. Sadly it is not there anymore.
