My First Barefoot Marathon
By John Yohe
It’s COLD this October morning in downtown Detroit, below freezing. The sun isn’t up yet.A lot of fit folks here. With sixty percent of all Americans obese, seeing people gathered together to challenge themselves physically instead of staying home and eating Doritos is refreshing. And oh my goodness, the women:Never have I seen so many fit ladies in tight spandex in once place. And then they do things like bend over to stretch and it’s madness.Any future mate of mine must be culled from these Amazons.

What Greg said. I wouldn't have written it in a race report but, my god, I sure would have thought it. My mind rarely leaves the gutter...

By the way, I liked the rest of the report too. I hope my first marathon will be a similarly positive experience. The one I'm shooting feer is in June though so I hope it'll be a little warmer...

I so much enjoyed this report...all aspects of it!

Reading this was very inspirational, thank you, and congrats!

(next time bring a camera, so you can post some pictures of al those fit women!) :)

Thanks but now I'm a little scared that I'm going to be know as 'that guy who ogles women at marathons' on here. I'm a nice guy, really! Ithink about other things too! Like...well, I can't think of anything right now, but sometimes Ido!

John

PS-Of course, women only have pure and chaste thoughts at races, right?

Congratulations - great run and really good report - I am hoping to do my first barefoot half this year - I am up to 8 miles so need a bit more conditioning but this type of report is very inspiring. Thank you
