Squeezed in 2.85 miles yesterday evening. Just some easy miles before dinner and bowling league. 4 days in a row of running. Although I don't know if I can count the first of those days since it was done in running shoes and I didn't enjoy those miles at all.

Last night as I was driving home from bowling league, some of the snow melt had begun to freeze up again on the roads, and I was the middle car in a trio of cars that came up on a woman who had slid off the road and into a driveway end's snowbank. I was wearing the Xeros and when I got out to go up and check to see if the woman was okay, she looked out her window and asked, "Are you barefoot?!?" I said, "No, I'm wearing sandals." And then the three of us got to work on figuring out how to get her car back on the road. 5 minutes later or so, we were all headed off to our destinations again.

30 minutes trail running 2 laps around little lake at Tribble Mill park....near perfect running conditions...warm 60F cloudy with a bit of mist.

I have been out of town visiting relatives for over a week...snowy and cold when I left...Spring-like when I arrived back last nite.

11.2km/7mi today, at a reasonable pace. I hit my right toe nail early in the run, it was dark, and my depth perception is reduced (blind on left eye).

That really hurts, and I am sure this afternoon it will be black. It won't stop me on Sunday for a longer run

It's been a busy week of long work days so only a short 3km run this morning, in my merrell trail gloves. Even though it was 730am it was hot and humid. Please could we have some cool weather?

Due toa cold, a little flu, and nicely timed egg-laying, tonight was the first night I had energy to exercise and I swam and gently did water exercises -for a change.

3.5 miles last evening, recovery pace, as that's all the legs felt like giving me so I listened to them. Today's weather might be too troublesome to run later, but that's okay as I plan to run long tomorrow.

10km in VFFs on wet pavement tonight. Still pretty mild and peaceful up/down the Hudson River.

Caught up to the 1,000 miles in a year pace bunny today by running 14.55 miles. It was messy out there, lots of yesterday's melt turned into ice and slush and there were some icy stretches where I had to carefully walk. Later in the run with things melting, stepped in a deep puddle. Thank goodness for wool toe socks, feet stayed warm even after stepping in a puddle that was more than ankle-deep.

Ran local roads for 32 minutes...50F a little breezy and mostly sunny. Not keeping track of miles this year only going by time...building up to 3+ hours a week.

A passing bike rider commented "Go Barefoot":D

    w-lifted
    th-ran trails with shoes on
f-lifted, ran for nearly an hour bf, napped.

forgot to mention last week when i sent snowboarding i walked through the parking lot in my sandals. no problem. when i was done i walked back to the car bf. damn if my feet didn't get cold fast. i guess ice does that to you. forgot that the snow was turning to ice because the sun went down. my feet were hot so i thought i'd be fine. made myself feel better by eating a bbq sampler after.

feet have been sore since tuesday mornings bf run. feet are sore this morning as i contemplate going for a trail run. hopefully bf.

This is a non-mileage report. No need to read it unless you are bored. Over the last couple of months of problems with sleep deprivation, anxiety, and effects of new medications on my muscles, etc. -all of my old imbalances, and buttloads of trigger points have returned, full force. All exercise has become painful and is exacerbating my imbalances. Trail running balances my imbalances, but ONLY when my trigger points are under control and I am fully relaxed. I am going to schedule a series of alternating massage and chiropractor treatments -amp up my daily trigger point self-massage and go back to using my good old TENS unit to provide electrostimulation to my tightest muscles. Thank goodness I am going to be getting off of more medications over the next couple of months -I was in crisis mode and had to take them at the time-but have to taper off them - one of which could take as long as two months. I just got off the one that causes muscle weakness and the next one to go is the one that causes muscle stiffness. My doctor will tell me no but it's not her decision. She actually tricked me into staying on that one, anyway. Originally prescribed for insomnia and when it did not work she then said she wanted me to stay on it for a different us I should have said no, then.

Spring is in the air here for a couple of days so I got out in shorts and shoeless this afternoon. A little over 13 miles at an easy pace.
My feet truly appreciated the freedom on their third barefoot run this year!

16.8km/10.4mi today, at slow pace, just enjoying the late summer sunshine, along the Sydney coast.

My toe pain is almost history, it did not even turn black, and was really only painful on Friday

First time I got a glass cut under my foot, but nothing to worry about (very small, and not very deep, thanks to my thick layer of skin ;))

I seriously start to think about doing the Sydney half marathon in May. But without any serious training, just for the fun

Things have been really crazy since just before Christmas and New Years but today I managed to take advantage of a 48 degree day and put in 3.22 miles. I feel completely out of shape but loved reading the road with my feet again. Hoping to get in the running grove again, after all I signed up to run a marathon the end of April and I'm hoping I'll be able to make it to the event.
