From the website...

"Millions of Americans run to lose weight, stay in shape or relieve
stress. But many suffer injuries that keep them off the road and out
of commission. A look at barefoot running and other trends gaining
traction.

Press. He is a three-time National Magazine Award finalist and author

Maybe they will be inspired

Maybe they will be inspired to shed their shoes and run barefoot. I wish our Doc were there to offer some balance to the conversation.

I just listened to it. Great

I just listened to it. Great interview; I really enjoyed it! I just finished Born to Run yesterday and it was fun to hear Christopher McDougall speak. He is willing to stand up for BF running even when he disagrees with a podiatrist & an amazing marathoner.

I was pleased that Dr. Pribut & Amby Burfoot were not anti-barefoot. On the other hand, they are certainly not advocates for BF running. They both say they think people should run with what works for them, and that overly-cushioned shoes are usually a bad choice. But they both also think that there's a place for some of the "corrective" footwear that's out there.

But even if he isn't usually a barefoot runner, at least Amby will always be a Burfoot runner. (Har har...groan....)

Thanks for the link, DavidP!!

I only caught the last 20

I only caught the last 20 minutes of call-in and email-in...thought Diane went a little too much to Pribut and Burfoot for the answers...Chris barely got a word in edgewise. But I heard he got a good say in at the start.

Art--Thankfully, Chris did

Art--Thankfully, Chris did get to talk a lot. You can listen to the whole thing if you use the link posted above.
