Hi, all! I joined the BRS a while back, but I haven't been hanging out until now. Silly me! I feel like I'm home with my tribe of barefoot runners. I've been running since 2009, at first in VFFs. Then a workshop with Barefoot Ken Bob and Barefoot Todd in Huntington Beach in 2010 encouraged me to lose the shoes. Great decision! I produce a podcast called Run Barefoot Girl, and I recently interviewed SaraLord from BRS. I really enjoyed that conversation... talking about barefoot running is one of my favorite things to do!
I'm half-way down - a little town called Oceano on the Central Coast. It's near San Luis Obispo. We moved here from the SF Bay Area six years ago. I miss it! What town do you live in?
I bet! I lived in Pacifica for a bit. I bet you have a lot of good barefoot running areas in Millbrae!
Hi Caity, welcome to the site. I started listening to your podcasts a while back so it's neat to see you here. Keep up the great work!
I'm moving to SLO from Portland, OR in a month. We have a tight little group of barefoot trail runners that I'm sad to leave. Anyone have group meetups in SLO or nearby? I'd love to find a new group of crazies.
Burket, you're in Portland? I don't recall ever seeing/meeting you out here. Do you ever do any of the group runs?
Nick: Maybe she was forewarned about you and has been discreetly avoiding. I have that happen a lot myself, so I figured my fellow soldier might be in the same boat. I'm not saying, I'm just saying... I hadn't had a chance to good-naturedly get in a free shot at you in a while. You're welcome. Phil
Hahaha Phil! I was just thinking yesterday or the day before that we haven't commented on the same post in a while! How funny. I guess great minds think a like! It is very possible that she was warned or just saw for herself that I am a chatty kathy...
HI! Well, I haven't connected with any barefoot runners yet in SLO, but I'd like to create a group. When you move here, please please please contact me and we'll set up a running plan! I have a friend who enjoys running barefoot - she's in Paso Robles but often visits SLO and we just haven't ever made a plan happen. Maybe you'll be the glue that makes it happen.
She and I were in contact and the last communication I recall was that she needed to get some ducks in a row before it could be implemented. I'm ready when she is!
