Dental technician Wayne Botha is aiming to reclaim a Guinness Book of Records world title and beat another record today in Auckland.

Botha is the fastest man barefoot in the world over 100km - and he's aiming to better his time. He's also aiming to reclaim the title for the longest distance barefoot in 24 hours.

The 42-year-old North Shore ultra-runner starts his journey at 9am at Mt Smart Stadium while taking part in the annual Sri Chinmoy 24-hour championship.

He wants to smash the 100km barefoot title by around 5.30pm today, and take out the other title by 10am tomorrow, having completed 552 laps of the 400m track. To continue reading, please visit: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11332326
