Eddie Vega, also known as "Barefoot Bandito," after completing 101 marathons in 2014. His 101st race was completed in Ocala, Florida on Dec. 31.

That's one amazing feat, but there are a few mixed messages in the report.

It says Eddie doesn't think barefoot running is better than in shoes, yet the start of his amazing mileage coincided exactly with him ditching traditional running shoes?

Here's a good case for looking more at what he's able to do (and does!) barefoot than what he says. He might just want to stay out of the politics.

That's okay. Any accomplishment by a barefoot athlete is fantastic!

Great athletes don't necessarily know how they accomplish what they do or all of the biomechanics. They can still serve as an inspiration for others.
