After a season of barefoot running I've discovered that I just
cannot run in the minimalist gear that I own  With the cooler
wet weather I've tried to use my Vibram Seeya's and they actually
hurt my feet, same with a pair of Nike Free I was running in a year
ago. Well, I decided to take a chance, given what Jen and some others
have said, I ordered a pair of Moc3's. They arrived yesterday, today I
took them out for a 5K spin... and YESSSS, these don't interfere with
any of my feet's natural movements at all. They do have some kind of
internal seam that might be a problem except I just put on a pair of
socks. Of course, I'd still MUCH rather have skin to ground, but for
the winter it looks like I've found something that will work, I'm happy!!

I know what you mean, Jaybird. I started running in my Luna Leadvilles because of an injured pinky toe (not from running). I couldn't wear any of my other running shoes (trail gloves or VFF). I'm loving these shoes. I know I'm quite the fashion diva with either my injinjis or tabbi socks with Luna's, but my feet are happy, which makes me happy! Can't wait for spring to ditch the socks.

Happy trails!

My first winter (last year) I went minishod (VFF) and was fine. But I was relatively new to bfr, and also only doing like 1-2 miles. This year the few times I've put the VFF back on or even huaraches my feet have revolted. So I'm going bare as long as I can. But what has me concerned is signing up for any mid-winter races. Might have to try the Moc3's, but dang I am creating quite a collection of minishoes! Just got myself some VB Ultra Pures, might have to see how they do running (just wearing them around so far).
