This is a question that comes to me now and again from the Chapter Presidents here at the BRS. They want to see their chapters active and grow, but understandably, it's a little difficult. We are a rare breed of individual, and it's not like we just live right next door to each other. Now that winter is here for many of us, it makes it even more difficult to get together for a run.
So, I ask all of you for your advice. How would you get your chapter more active? I will share these suggestions with the CPs.
Here are some of my suggestions:

Here are some of my suggestions:
- If you are comfortable doing so, post at Ken Bob's to let them know you exist - http://barefootrunning.com
- If you are comfortable doing so, post at Ted's discussion group to let them know you exist - http://groups.google.com/group/huaraches (You may need to create an account to do so, if you don't already have one.)
- Post at that "other" forum (RW BFR Forum) to let them know you exist - http://community.runnersworld.com/forum/barefoot-running (You may need to create an account to do so, if you don't already have one.)
- Ask your members to add themselves to the Member Map, so you will know where they are located and can schedule group runs in areas that are local to them.
- Contact your local running clubs to ask them if they could post a flyer or notice on their websites, in their newsletters, and allow you to distribute flyers at one of their upcoming meetings or meetups.
- If you have an event or run you would like to schedule, in addition to posting at the BRS, locate all of the online race calendars in your area to post your event there (for example, in Georgia, we have access to all sorts of online race calendars that cost nothing to use).
- Contact these national race calendars that have no fee as well:
- Run Walk Jog - http://www.runwalkjog.com/racesubmit.htm
- Running in the USA - http://runningintheusa.com/Race/Submit.aspx
- Run the Planet - http://www.runtheplanet.com/racesrunning/submitrace.asp
- Cool Running - http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/5/5_1/index.shtml
- Running Times - http://raceseries.runnersworld.com/raceevent/runningtimesLogin.html (Yes, Running Times returned a Runner's World URL; go to the bottom of the screen to create a login; not sure if there is a charge; I wouldn't think so, but please let us know.)
- Runner's World - http://www.racedirectorresource.com/ (Go to the bottom of the screen to create a login; not sure if there is a charge; I wouldn't think so, but again, please let us know.)
- Running Journal - http://www.running.net/calendar-0 (For those of you who are in the Southeast United States.)
- Many others as well...
