    Trail Running

Why not the leather KSO Treks? some stores have been selling them at $100 or even less. The only drawback is that you would probably want to wear socks in them (the footbeds get sticky against the skin due to sweat) so if you're intended to run part of the race barefoot you'd have to spend a...

Nutritional dogma bites the big one, again

It's funny, I had the intention some days ago to post about this article and another one also published in Scientific American in 2011 but with a different purpose, to show how journalists can mislead incautious readers by misrepresenting data and hiding ("ignoring"?) information. Gary Taubes is...

Adverse Response to Exercise in 10% Individuals According to Recent Study

    - If some people are looking for an excuse not to run it may well be that they don't actually enjoy running, therefore they would better off not running and instead they practiced something they really enjoy: hiking, cycling, swimming, basketball, paddling, tennis, skating, ultimate frisbee...

Current "scientific" evidence of potential positive effects of a number of nutritional supplements

...and food products. Some days ago I found this webpage: http://informationisbeautiful.net/play/snake-oil-supplements I have detected some mistakes and they haven't disclosed the method applied to rank the level of evidence. In my opinion the classification given in MedlinePlus is more reliable...

Adverse Response to Exercise in 10% Individuals According to Recent Study

Vanessa Runs: "This is combined with the fact that there is no concrete evidence that ultra running caused Micah’s death. Some doctors even told Maria that ultra running may well have extended his life." - There is no concrete evidence that boxing has actually caused Cassius Clay/Muhammad...

I dont mean to get all philosophical and break your buzz but something touching happened last night.

In my opinion nobody really deserves the life they have (either for good or for bad). Justice is just a intersubjective concept with its scope restricted to social interactions. Nevertheless, even all our desires combined wouldn't make someone become much healthier or luckier in life.

Adverse Response to Exercise in 10% Individuals According to Recent Study

My guess is that the recommendation is instead probably based on the results of this other study: <<A new study, published online June 4 in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, suggests, however, that this “excessive endurance exercise” might actually be putting people at risk for permanent heart damage...

    - Is severe bradycardia always symptom of a pathology? I have "suffered" bradycardia since my teens (due to left ventricular hypertrophy according to ECG results) and no doctor has ever recommended against the practice of endurance exercise.

Are Bikila VFF's a step in the wrong direction?

@Jimmy Hart,You're certainly @Jimmy Hart, You're certainly right on your impressions about how your Bikilas were changing with use. EVA cushioning won't last for ever, any runner who has previously run in cushioned running shoes would agree with that. I think though, that any shoe should feel...

    Winter Footwear

My personal experience with My personal experience with VFFs is that as the edges of the part of the soles under your toes are only a few millimeters above the ground, as soon as water starts to cumulate on it, the textile that lines the rest of your toes gets quickly soaked. I've repeatedly...
