    Minimal Dress Shoes for Women

Thanks everyone for your Thanks everyone for your input; I settled on the Merrells, partially because I could try them on. I like them pretty well, but I actually love the Dr. Scholl's Fast Flats that I got the best. They're holding up amazingly well despite looking pretty cheap - and they...

Mamy, thanks for the Mamy, thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely check out Soft Star and China flats! Joseph, I wish I could be barefoot all the time (I was all summer!) but unfortunately I have to wear shoes walking the halls at work. But not at my desk! ;-)

    Minimal Dress Shoes for Women

Thanks TJ, I forgot about Thanks TJ, I forgot about those. I think the Kigos are a little too casual for what I want to wear to work (something about the stitching is less dressy or something).

    Minimal Dress Shoes for Women

Hello everyone, I've been away for awhile but I'm back now... I've got a question for all the women out there who have to wear shoes to work, or who wear minimal dress shoes to go out. I need a dressy shoe to wear to work, that's minimal. I'm changing jobs, and I could wear VFFs or moccasins...

Do you listen to music? In the dark...do you use a light?

When I ran shod, I always When I ran shod, I always listened to music, but when I started running BF I stopped. The other day I turned the music on and had the best run of my BF career. I don't know whether I'll do it all the time, but it definitely distracted me from counting, paying...

    Running on a frying pan....

mega, having grown up in mega, having grown up in Florida I can say that eventually it gets too hot to bear no matter what you do! As @dmcchesney said, run on the lines and it will help. I have found that limited exposure does help build up your tolerance (and maybe your skin), but to be...

Anyone run on their lunch break?

Gkikas,I'm not really a Gkikas, I'm not really a "Tallahassee person" - I am a second-generation UF grad and I just live amongst the savages here, trying hard to educate them about the finer things in life (both football and BFR!) LOL. My hubby is from Miami and lived in Sarasota for awhile...

Anyone run on their lunch break?

I run at lunch in the I run at lunch in the wintertime, but it's already in the upper 90s by 2:00 here, so running at lunch isn't an option (pavement's too hot). Or rather, running BF at lunch is too hot; I do on rare occasion run in VFFs but it's not as fun so I wait until it cools off.

    Rate your job.

I am at 0 at my desk and at I am at 0 at my desk and at home, but really I have to be at a 1.5 usually at work. I can wear VFFs or sandals (need to try huraches, no reason why not) to work (with dress pants!) but not flip-flops. I've been known to sneak over to the printer, the break room...

    May Ongoing "Weekly Mileage" Thread

I got three miles in for the I got three miles in for the week! Not much, but given the lack of running for months on end, I'm happy with that. :-) I did manage some sprints in there too, which was nice.

Tender sensations on the bottoms of the feet?

NR it sounds like friction to NR it sounds like friction to me, but I don't pretend to be an expert. With the gravel, the ground moves under your feet, so you potentially get less friction with the natural movement of your feet. On trails, you can get away with a little pushing off or some...

    I'm Such An Idiot!

I definitely need some heat I definitely need some heat training! Actually I'm still building up my feet after three months in a boot/shoe so that's part of the problem too. Fortunately they feel pretty good already, and I'm planning to run today (3 days later) - although I'll wait until the...

    Posterior Tibial Tendonitis

I just got over a torn PTT I just got over a torn PTT but there were no bone issues involved. I saw an orthopedic surgeon (and I go back on Friday 5/6 for a (hopefully) last checkup). I spent three months in a boot and I'm not sure it's fully healed, but I can run about a mile on it now...

    I'm Such An Idiot!

Yeah, TJ, I should have done Yeah, TJ, I should have done that, or my VFFs or something. I guess it's already too hot for running in the middle of the day like I did. Too bad, too, because it was truly perfect otherwise!
