    posterior tibial tendon

Help. I have tendonitis in my left posterior tibial tendon. I've been to a podiatrist, who made custom orthotics and showed me pictures (the x-rays) of both feet. They're a mess. Everything seems to be falling apart. In particular, the arches in both feet are falling, throwing everything...

Kenya, home to the world's fastest runners, will soon produce high-performance running shoes

Not sure what you mean, aside from the woman in the last photo running with a heel strike, shoes with heel lift, rolled up toe box, padding underfoot, and motion control, and of course, running in shoes.

What do we mean when we say "Listen to your body"

Sid, I agree completely But, I ran as a senior in high school (a very long time ago) and had heel strike strongly implanted in my brain. Unless the teachers learn to run better, they won't be able to help the students. When I quit running in the late 70' it was because of knee and lower back...

Dr. Michael Wilkinson, Northumbria University - Barefoot Running: Science and Practice

Hopefully he will be publishing his work. It's always more comforting to see the original work than what someone else writes about it. Too often ideas get rearranged and the emphasis changes

What else do you do besides running?

forgot to mention the Malemute on my right. He really loves to run. He's gone so far as to claim I'm not allowed to run without him.

What else do you do besides running?

My first love is freediving. I've been doing it since I was 5 (a very long time ago) then cycling, and now running again. I had given up on running about 30 years ago because of knee and later, back, pain. Since January, when I was loaned a copy of Born to Run, I'm back to it. Minimalist...

Since when did running in VFFs equate to running barefoot?

You guys better keep supporting us minimalist runners. There's still several feet of snow around here. Minimalist shoes work. Barefoot just doesn't (yet)

The Greatest Runners are heel strikers

I've been talking to the Kenyan runners at The U of Alaska Anchorage. They are given shoes, but still all run ball strike. One of them got first place in NCAA-2 Cross Country last year. Not too bad for a bunch of runners who all learned to run barefoot and with a ball strike.

survey from the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine

As a new barefoot runner who hasn't run in 30 years, there's no place for correct responses for me. I quit a long time ago due to lower back and knee pain, but have neither now. No place for that. In college and grad school I did a lot of running , but quit. No place for that either. Both...

New Study shows Shod running more efficient??

I went ahead and read the abstract from the author. He states that there is no statistical difference between barefoot and shod. The only difference noted was when weight was added. That means that, despite the very small difference noted, that the two are equal. That said, I am new here...
