I managed to do last Monday's intended run today! 13.25 barefoot miles around Central Park at about 8 m/m pace. Not working hard enough to perspire...

Sometimes. When wet the leather footbed was very slick. I have a pair of Monos with the MGT footbed and that is fine in the wet.
My first pair did 3 years but most of that was walking not running.
I like the Luna Venado. Light, flexible and very comfortable.

Try and get hold of Ordnance Survey sheet 90 (Penrith and Keswick) as it will give you a good idea of the terrain you'll be traveling.
I find Vivos very comfortable for wearing casually but narrow to run in.
Have you tried Luna or Xero sandals? Width is much less of an issue with...
