Wow, um, people actually wear these?

This is going to sound insane but I've tested these and they are actually pretty comfy. The toe box is really roomy and I don't know how they do it but that huge sole doesn't interfere with my form. I wouldn't want to walk around in them all the time but for the small amount of running I did in them it was a really impressive and confusing experience. I can't condone the over cushioning but it proved me wrong on my list things that had to be bad about it.

Wha wha??? Really Jimmy? Those look absolutely terrible. I don't know if I could ever bring myself to even try them on. A 39mm heel. Wow.

The Brooks Beast has nothing on this shoe. The Beast is 29 mm heel while this shoe has 39mm! Talk about having no clue of what you are walking or running on. It's like having actual pillows strapped to your feet!

Oh i missed the heel on it. .dang now i know there is a more supportive shoe ugh .Also that would make me a little taller and with that my weight would have been better ratio lol

Jimmy, I know; I was just poking a little fun. I am really interested in trying Hokas on, and have read many positive reviews, most of which echo your comments about not messing with form.

They do look like something my grandma would wear, though...

I know guys. I know. I design shoes for a living and the Hoka is something I was told to try out so I could get a feel for it. You won't feel a thing you're running on for sure Nick but it really isn't that bad of a shoe in terms of what it does to your form. I thought for sure that I would be pounding my feet to the ground trying to find an impact response but I ran soft and quiet. I don't know how that happens but it's impressive from a design stand point. I personally wouldn't wear them just because it's too much and I like a light and free feel but for what this shoe is and what it does...I'm pretty impressed.

The Beast is a brick that doesn't flex anywhere where the Hoka is soft and doesn't flex. I'd recommend the Hoka a million times before I recommended a Beast. I think the Beast could win an award for worst thing ever put on a runner's foot.

Perhaps the injuries with these shoes come after wearing them for a while longer. Maybe a long-term test drive is what is needed to truly know if/how they will mess with the body. Any takers?
