I steped on a bee or wasp while BF running some trails...this is the downside to looking ahead....i thought it was a bruise last night until i remembered that i thought i had been stung on my aquathon yesterday....lol...i can see the dot from the stinger....im not sure if i should try to dig it out with a pin or leave it and let my body deal with it....

Has anyone dealt with this..?

I have not, but I would try

I have not, but I would try to get it out. Bore a shallow moat around the area, and it will come up easier.

I did step on a bee when I was little, and I remember my mom borrowing a cigarette from a stranger and wetting the tobacco and putting it on the sting. The pain went away immediately.

I got my one and only sting

I got my one and only sting when an eager bee went down my shirt collar on the back of my neck, and annoyed him when my hand went digging around. Imagine my surprise. The stinger came out pretty easy, thankfully. Hope I never get one buried in my foot. I too would get it out. Not likely to do anything major even if it doesn't come out. Also be aware that the stinger may not be in there. I read that only a few species have barbed stingers that remain stuck. The site will still be swollen leading you to think it's there. What I read

yeah agreed- its itchy now, i

yeah agreed- its itchy now, i could run fine yesterday.....its in the arch area on the outside. i think ive read it will last about a week. the itchy part is anoying while trying to sleep.....ill make it.

Try some cigarette tobacco.

Try some cigarette tobacco. I'm curious if it will get rid of the itch.

sorry forgot to post a follow

sorry forgot to post a follow up- baking soda and tobbacco atempts..... but not really anything but "time" makes it normal....not that big of a deal in hindsight. fricton blisters from pushing off, at longer distances is more of a trouble....but i am very surprised at how fast the foot can heal.....rock/gravel runs seem to be the worst- tiny foot brusing....no discoloration- and the healing time was about 1-2 weeks....bruising 3-4 out of 10 on pain scale. bee sting 1, scuffing or push off blisters 2-3....IMO. thanks for the feetback everyone. jim

You're doing better?  That's

You're doing better? That's great. I guess the pain-relief effects from the tobacco only help when the sting is new and fresh.
