Nice mileage Zumba!I only

Nice mileage Zumba!

I only did one run this week...it was coldish rainy and muddy so I decided to do a long trail run in Merrell Trail Gloves.

18 miles on this one...feet came thru well, the usual swelling after 12 miles didn't bother my toes, so they passed the most important test. Did do 2 of the miles at fast pace hammering the steeper downhills in the mud was fun. This was my last shoe run for a while.

This was also my first long run since switching to the Paleo diet...I didn't eat anything on this run and felt fine...

zumba, did you mean weekly

zumba, did you mean weekly mileage ending April 2/3? or did you want to start an ongoing thread for this new week?

anyway, i'll also start a thread for the week ending april 2/3 for anyone who wants to brag about the week ending now.

6 miles of technical mountain

6 miles of technical mountain trails with the one and Only barefoot KEN BOB SAXTON and two other barefooters with us named Clifford and Bob! We mapped out the course for the Naked tour Sunday withKen Bob, Scott Jurek and Chris McDougall. Gonna be rad!

Zumba thats awesome you are doing a marathon! I just did my first barefoot marathon...it was slow and off barely any running but it was a blast! You'll do great!

15 mile barefoot run this

15 mile barefoot run this morning, finally felt nice to run barefoot in decent weather, it was 50 degrees just perfect.

40 total miles for the week, 34 barefoot, 6 in luna's

Ops forgot about the 6 mile run in Luna's, while snowing, the weather is all over the place.

haha, oops sorry Stomper..I

haha, oops sorry Stomper..I decided to forego last week since I start my weeks on Sundays so was just going to put up an ongoing weekly thread for this coming week.

Congrats Oso on the barefoot marathon!! Details, when was it and where? How long did you train for it?

Adam, you're getting in some excellent long runs lately! Nice work

Moki, are you finding that you have enough energy from your diet to get you through long runs because of your diet? What about sodium replacement, is that something you still do? Nice run, were you testing out the Gloves?

Sunday 4/3: nada!

I loved my run with Ken Bob.

I loved my run with Ken Bob. I like to watch him run. He is so gentle, so light, has a great knee bend. I hope to see him again this year on his second tour.

Zumba, It's n my blog in my

Zumba, It's n my blog in my sig. I had a very foolish 3 month spell which made me approach the marathon a bit differently than I had planned. I ended up doing 4:19 at the LA marathon off once a week at best for the build up inever ran more than 20mpw during the buildup! haha. Not ideal but it worked and I LOVED the experience.

TJ,

Yea Ken Bob rules..and I'm lucky to live so close! Heck, I got a bunch of runs with him coming up, including the Naked tour, The Born to Run Event and international Barefoot day. The dude can still fly on the downhills of technical trails.

@Adam good run bro..and glad you got some decent weather!

Yup.. Zumba it was my long

Yup.. Zumba it was my long run test on the Merrell Trail Gloves...I'm still liking them. I ran slow, it was cool lo 40's out so didn't need anything except water for this time... later when its hot out I don't know yet.

On going thread is good too. Today i did a 1.5 hour bike ride and a 1 mile run afterwards...road tried to burn my feet so had run in the grass a bit.

Wow, Oso, sounds like quite

Wow, Oso, sounds like quite the adventure! A windy rainy marathon must account for at least double the energy expenditure! What's in store for you next?

Moki, I've heard the Merrell's are relatively narrow...have you found this to be true? Nice combo today, the road tried to burn your feet as in it's that hot??

Monday: nothing yet, though planning a 6mi likely in water shoes. It's cold and rainy here today.

dudes..check this out...Our

dudes..check this out...Our Kenbob trail video is on Chris McDougall's site! http://www.chrismcdougall.com/blog/april-10/

Zumba, this ia what's in store for me

The Naked tour, The Born to Run Event and international Barefoot day all in the next month or so.

In the marathon the wind is what was the most difficult.. in the end I think the rain and cool weather was a blessing. The head wind for 26 miles was not. But hey I am happy as pie with my finish and I enjoyed the heck out of the marathon.

Zumba - The Merrell's have a

Zumba - The Merrell's have a wider toe box than any shoes I've ever tried, they fit tight in the mid-foot. Of course everyone's feet are different shaped so you have to try them on first. They are only for winter trail running for me, I have lighter thinner shoes for the rare winter pavement run.

Today was the opposite of Sunday's 80 degrees, cold and windy mid 40's....managed 7 miles barefoot on local roads.

Ran 3 miles after biking on Friday...that makes 11 miles barefoot for the week. Also had 3 hours bike riding and 1 hour of swimming but took today off from exercise. Its warming up here in Georgia...it was actually hot today.

I got in 102.34km. I am starting to get back into a routine, though the weather is also trying to warm up. Lately it has been 22C (72F) in the morning during the start of my runs and is up to 24C (75F) when I finish and I need to start getting use to that.

reporting that I did nada on

reporting that I did nada on Saturday post 4hr day of Zumba...though did spend a good 6hrs writing a 1 page discussion on hallux valgus (bunion) and it's impact on the kinetic chain for school:p My brain got a good workout!

NIce work this week all! Happy Trails!

I only ran 2x this past week.

I only ran 2x this past week. I usually try for min of 3-5x

Sunday-1st Half marathon (1:55:21)

Thursday-Half mile gravel run (1st time), 2 mile sprint/run

Hope to get up to 30mi/week.

19 miles.

19 miles.

Nice job on the half

Nice job on the half Striped!

TJ, it still makes me happy to see mileage from your way. How are those feet feeling? Better I hope :)

17mi for me today, farthest run so far. Did 10 barefoot (well, duct tape on the balls of my feet for 6 of them...dry cracked feet that split open on a run=ouch), the rest in walmart water shoes.

not sure if I should include this run in last week or this coming week since it was supposed to be last week's long run,. either way, what's a day in the grand scheme of things. My life is just easier when I can just look at is as a progression of days rather than weeks anyway:p
