since I was off work for thanksgiving I decided that was NOT wearing shoes the whole day. The weather was good and before the "feast" I went for a quick 3 mile hike thinking no one else would be out. The trials were packed and I got quite a few odd looks. I guess it still embarrasses me a bit...not sure why. If I choose to be barefoot not sure why people make a big deal of it. The hike was great and I burned off some calories before putting them back on!

I didn't get a hike in the day of, but got a little run in the day before and today (day after) a walk with my wife. It was frosty out and gorgeous! I kind of like getting reactions from non-barefooters, especially on frosty days or on hiking trails up in the Olympics. I realize I'm in a lot better shape because I took my shoes off and found out just how fun it is to move this way. I like to tell people: "It's fun! I used to wear shoes but this is so fun!" or something along those lines.

All the best,
Scott
