So now it's starting to get cold here (or am I just a wimp?...).
4km to finish off my week at -2 deg C (about 28f I think). Beautiful crisp morning with the lightest of frost on the ground. I love that feeling you get after you've been running a little while and your toes start to warm up again. -Not sure how that works, but it I find it really helps me relax into the run...

Some good runs in this week... week started out very nice out. Monday got at 18 mile bike ride in before I starting my stretch of nightshifts. Tuesday, like normal, I couldn't sleep very long during the day so got a run in of 7.5 miles at modest pace (I was feeling a bit off from the shift change). Wednesday I slept later so didn't have as much time, but just headed out the door down the road and back for a quick 2.5 miles. Then Friday after I no longer had to work the nights, got a slow evening run in 5 miles. Really wanted to run Saturday but between having my son all day and piles of things to do I skipped. Today just by sunset I completed 10 miles and held a low 8 minute pace. It was slightly below freezing to and experienced my first bit of foot numbness of the year. Not used to this yet!

Week total 25 miles running and 18 miles cycling.

Had to dig out my Sockwas yesterday for my 2+ mile run. It was -10C and snowing, looks like the snow is here now until spring. :(

Stay warm up there Dutchie. I finally fired up the pellet stove a couple days ago, and made some progress building a new hearth for a woodstove which I was to install today but didn't get to it. I'll try to do it on my one day off this week.

Only 1+ mile today, but it was barefoot on packed snow/ice and a temp of -7C. It was almost tolerable until my dog did his business on someones front lawn and I had to step in fresh snow and do a cleanup. Once the fresh snow covered my feet, I was done. The fresh snow got my feet wet as the snow melted on my feet during the pickup, and once they were wet they got uncomfortably cold and I had to head in so I would not incur a frostbite penalty. ;):coldfeet:
