Hope everyone is handling the cooling temperatures! I know a couple weeks ago even seeing 40's out was discouraging, especially with no sun, the high winds, and threat of rain. But this week looks fantastic! Mid 60's today and around here suppose to be mid 70's by mid week. Fingers crossed I don't get called in anymore (did for nightshift tonight :banghead: :dead: ).

Anyhow, started the week out good with a 7.8 mi run and 10.25mi on the bike barefoot and sleevless. Feels nice to feel the sun again!

Noticed a few late-comers to the fall party along the Heart Of Ohio Trail today... most trees have changed and shed their leaves but these were a brilliant yellow today, and against the deep blue fall sky I had to get my phone out at take a quick pic. Somewhere in there is a Red-Tailed Hawk that I didn't see until I started up running again and it flew from the tree right overhead. They usually don't let me get so close! To bad I couldn't spot him first but I was distracted...

Fairly cool, dark and wet one for me this morning. 3.6km along a soggy leaf covered pathway -actually quite a pleasant surface cover for the usual deteriorating concrete paving.
Although it was raining, it was actually really enjoyable. Very quiet and no wildlife to speak of (obviously all sensibly sheltering from the weather!).
Hoping to get out again later in the week..

...and a nice slow 4km to finish the week off this morning.
Weirdly warm for this time of year, but very wet today -fair bit of mud & decomposing leaves around. The sun was doing its best to come up just as I completed my route, revealing a grey damp and generally yukky day to start the weekend. Enjoyable run though -body seems to be holding itself together at the moment too!:)

Most excellent 10 mile run at 5:45 am..
A cool 46 deg. f..
I could still see the Moon and Venus (very awesome this morning).
I also got a very nice sunrise!
I went on my old 10 mile path with beautiful Creek Crossings.

I am ready for the Blue and Red run next weekend (1/2 marathon).

Had a good week... and that hasn't happened in a long while!

On Friday I came upon another redtail hawk but this time he was only about 15' from me, about eye level up in a tree branch over a small drainage stream near the bike path. He hung around long enough for me to take a couple pics and was actually close enough that it came out in just a wide angle cell phone pic...
